Must I meet with the concierge?

Yes, you will need to meet the concierge, so your insurance information, driver’s license, and credit card details can be verified. The verification is only necessary for your first reservation, but the concierge will need to meet you for each vehicle drop-off, so he or she can answer any questions you might have about the vehicle and make sure you are comfortable with the car. The concierge will also hand over the keys to the Audi. You will not have an additional charge for the concierge services. You will meet the concierge at the reservation end, so you can return the vehicle keys. The length of the personal delivery from the concierge can vary, but a first-time customer can expect the walk-through of the vehicle to take about 20 minutes for the concierge to complete. This first-time visit will include verifying the documentation, describing a few of the basics of the vehicle and how to drive it, and details regarding returning the vehicle to the Audi on demand concierge. Audi on demand can deliver and pickup vehicles during normal business hours, which are 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. PST seven days a week.

How Much Does Audi on demand cost?

To make a vehicle reservation, you will need to create an account on the Audi on demand website. You will then need to confirm your email and log in, so you can reserve a vehicle. The minimum reservation price is for one day, regardless of whether the car is used for an entire 24-hour timeframe. The price varies based on the vehicle you choose. Most models have a reduced reservation charge, except for the Audi A8, S7, RS 7, S8, RS 5, and R8 models. All payments must be made by credit card. Audi on demand accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club. When you reserve the vehicle, the subscription service will place a $1 hold on your credit card. A day before your reservation begins, there will be a hold placed on your credit card for the estimated amount that will be due. When the vehicle is returned, there will be an inspection of the car. An invoice will be sent by email. The invoice will include the total reservation cost, any additional charges that you might have incurred, such as mileage overage fees or fuel costs. If you modified your reservation for early return or cancellation, that will be noted with any price changes. A second invoice can be sent for any additional charges not determined when the vehicle is inspected, such as any vehicle damage not covered by insurance, including damage to optional or permanent equipment.

What Costs are included?

When you reserve an Audi through Audi on demand, your daily reservation charge includes several things if you add personal or corporate insurance coverage. Reservations where the member has chosen to purchase insurance include:

  • The cost of the vehicle reservation itself
  • Delivery and return services
  • Cleaning and refueling services (fuel is not included in this fee)
  • FasTrak tolls – you are responsible for the tolling fees for FasTrak Express Lanes and any fees not covered by Bay Area FasTrak
  • Unlimited mileage for most models, but some models are limited to 200 miles per day
  • Optional equipment, such as child seats and bike racks, if needed

If you are a U.S. resident, you can choose to use your own auto insurance policy and not purchase coverage from Audi on demand. You will need to save this information in your profile for future reservations. You can purchase additional insurance for an extra charge. The extra insurance will provide liability and physical damage coverage up to $1 million. In the event of an accident, you might be responsible for the deductible, which could be as much as $1,000. All the vehicles are equipped with quattro all-wheel drive except for the A3 Sportback e-tron. Several models, including the Q3, Q5, Q7, SQ5, A4, A5 Coupe, A5 Cabriolet, S3, S4, and TTR have all-season tires that meet the Level 1 and Level 2 California Department of Transportation requirements for areas with snowfall during winter.

What Costs Aren’t Included?

In addition to the daily reservation charge, you are responsible for the cost of fuel, parking fees, and any damage to the vehicle that is not covered by your insurance. Any miles over 200 miles per day are .50 per mile for the Audi RS 5, S7, RS 7, A8, and S8, and $1 per mile for Audi R8 Coupe and R8 Spyder. Audi on demand will deliver the Audi with a full tank of gas. You can either return it with a full tank of gas or they will fill it up for you. If Audi on demand fills it up, you will be billed for the fuel necessary to fill up the Audi’s tank at the weekly average market price.

Audis use Premium 91 or Super 95 gasoline, as specified in the owner’s manual. Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. If you do smoke in the car, there will be an additional $250 cleaning fee added to your reservation. Pets are allowed in the vehicles just so long as you have them in an airline-approved carrier and you provide your own backseat cover to make sure the vehicle’s seat is properly protected. If Audi on demand must take extra measures to repair or clean the vehicle because of a pet, you will have an additional charge. If the vehicle cannot be reserved by another customer because of the cleaning process, you will be charged for the number of days that vehicle is taken out of rental rotation.
